Role of the Financial Professional
Many collaborative law cases utilize a team approach that involves not only the attorneys,
but also a neutral financial professional and neutral mental health professional.
The financial professional (or FP) is often a licensed financial analyst or planner who has
also received training in collaborative law. In the collaborative law process, the FP serves
as a neutral, meaning he or she is an objective member of the team rather than representing either party.
The FP manages the financial aspects of your case, typically by assisting with the gathering of information
and evaluating various options that may be considered.
