Role of the Attorney

The collaborative law process does require that each party retain his or her own attorney and there are many attorneys in Texas trained in collaborative law. Each of the fellows of the Texas College of Collaborative Law has attended multiple trainings in collaborative law and we continue to hone our skills through continuing education seminars and conferences.

Your collaborative law attorney will represent you throughout the collaborative law process and will help shepherd your case through the process, but ultimately the final decisions are yours. Your attorney’s role is to provide you with legal advice and help you obtain what you need to make an informed decision that optimizes your family’s needs.
